Introduction
Music Rivals is a free multiplayer online game that sees you, a lead vocalist, enter your local music scene and start a new band. You start off with a modest sum of money in the bank, with which you will need to hire session musicians and kit them out with equipment. Make sure you don't go spending all you have, as musician wages will be taken from your account hourly, and if you spend more than 50 Music Rivals days in debt, your band will split up!
As time goes by you will gain reputation and money by playing gigs and recording/selling CDs. Music Rivals time is not what you're used to though! One day on Music Rivals passes in 1 hour real time. Don't forget this, it's important! Your rivals will be out to steal the number one spot from you, so marketing campaigns and sneaky rumour spreading tactics will be needed to succeed.
Music Rivals runs on a monthly cycle, starting the 1st of each month. The winner of a game is the band with the highest stardom rating at the end of the month. This band will be immortalised in MR history via our archives.
